not all kidney diseases are suitable to have a renal biopsy test

Recently many patients ask me the problem about renal biopsy, today I am going to highlight that not all kidney diseases are suitable to have a renal biopsy test.

1.       In most cases, the patients with chronic nephritis don’t need to have the renal biopsy;

2.       Avoiding the renal biopsy for the patients with bleeding tendency, severe hypertension, solitary kidney, small kidney and don’t cooperate with operator;

3.       The patients with over-obesity, severe edema, kidney neoplasms and late trimester of pregnancy cannot do the renal biopsy;

4.       The patients whose kidneys have inflammation and the patients with hydronephrosis and highly ascites need to eliminate corresponding symptoms then can have renal biopsy.
